synthetische Corticosteroide (meist als Glucocorticoide) mit antiallergischer u. entzündungshemmender (antiphlogistischer) Wirkung. Strukturell abgeleitet vom 1,4-Pregnandien-3,20-dion (Formel I; R₁ bis R₅ = H, R₆ = CH₃) bzw. vom 4-Pregnen-3,20-dion (Formel II) u. an R₁ u./oder R₂ fluoriert.
